COMPUTER CONTENT ANALYSIS OF MEMES ABOUT THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR IN 2022

The article defines the concept of “Internet meme”, analyzes its main characteristics, types, describes methodology content analysis memes. purpose this study is to carry out a computer memes, identify their features, and determine functions. Researchers analyzed 240 Internet memes about Russian-Ukrainian war in 2022. Ukrainian social networks were used as source sampling period: from February October sample included content-image type with verbal component (creolized memes) or without it (graphic memes). Content was carried using MAXQDA software. system categories (codes) – formal developed. include following: meme type, language, communication levels, topic. codes vocabulary such subcodes, standard vocabulary, substandard vocabulary. help showed that most often occurred are on military topic, which contain level some captions inserts. lexical almost half them elements, among ethnic slurs obscenities dominate. Euphemisms neologisms create satirical effect. also following functions memes: entertaining, anti-stress, expressive, pragmatic, ethnic, identification, epistemological, collective involvement.
